Configure > Error Messages

You can use the Error Messages area to create user-defined codes and messages to help identify errors during the staging order item validation process. The error messages that you define in this area appear in drop-down lists when defining a validation rule.

The following table describes the information you can specify when managing error messages:

FieldDescription
Error IdThe identifier that appears in the Orders > Order Staging area if the rule associated with the error message is not valid.
Error Message(Optional) The message that appears when an order fails a validation rule.

This section describes the tasks you can perform when managing error messages.

Create an Error Message

  1. Click the Setup tab, then click Configure in the secondary menu and select Error Messages from the drop-down menu. The Error Messages screen appears.
  2. Click the New button.
  3. In the Error Id* field, type the error identifier.
  4. (Optional) In the Error Message field, type the error message that appears when an order fails a validation rule.
  5. Click the Save button. The newly-created error message appears in the results pane.

Edit an Error Message

note: The only field that you can modify is the Error Message field.

  1. Select an error message from the list in the results pane.
  2. Modify the Error Message field, as required.
  3. Click the Save button.

Delete an Error Message

  1. Select an error message from the list in the results pane.
  2. Click the Delete button. A message appears asking “Do you really want to delete the selected item?”.
  3. Click the OK button to confirm the deletion, or click the Cancel button to cancel the action.

Download an Error Message

  1. Click the Setup tab, then click Configure in the secondary menu and select Error Messages from the drop-down menu. The Error Messages screen appears.
  2. Click the Download button. A dialog appears allowing you to save the file.
  3. Save the file to your local machine.

Audit an Error Message

  1. Select an error message from the list in the results pane.
  2. Click the Audit button. The Audit History pane appears, showing audit details for any changes to the error message.
  3. Click the OK button.
