Configure > Order Type

Order types enable you to define types of transactions that will be used in plan design and calculation.  The order types companies create are typically determined by the plan components or types of transactions needed to qualify an order for crediting.

The order types you define in this area appear in various lists throughout the application when creating formulas, lookup tables and conditions in rules.

SearchUses the criteria entered into the bold fields to search for matches in the order type list.
ClearBecomes active when clicking a line item in the result list. Allows you to clear the fields of an order type.
ResetBecomes active when clicking on a line item in the results list. Allows you to reset the fields populated in the order type.
DeleteBecomes active when clicking a line item in the results list. Allows you to delete the order type from the application. Note: You cannot delete an order type that is being used in the application.
AuditDisplays after clicking a line item and clicking Audit. Shows a log of changes to the order type selected from the list.

How to for Common Tasks…

This section describes the tasks you can perform when managing order types.

Create an Order Type

  1. Click the Setup tab, then click Configure in the secondary menu and select Order Type from the drop-down menu. The Order Type screen appears.
  2. Click the New button.
  3. In the Name* field, type the name of the order type.
  4. In the Description field, type a description for the order type.  For example, you may enter Used for tracking Services orders as an order type you would use when adding transaction types for calculation.
  5. Click the Save button. The newly-created order type appears in the results pane.

Edit an Order Type

note: You cannot edit an order type name.

  1. Click on an order type from the list in the results pane.
  2. Modify the description that require changes.
  3. Click the Save button.

Delete an Order Type

note: You cannot delete an order type that is being used in a transaction in the application.

  1. Click the order type from the list in the results pane.
  2. Click the Delete button.
  3. A message appears asking “Do you really want to delete the selected item?”.
  4. Click the Delete button to confirm the deletion, or click the Cancel button to cancel the action.
