Credit Assignment > Credit Assignment Introduction
You can use the Credit Assignment area to upload orders into the application and run
the credit assignment process for selected periods (as defined in the Setup > Calendars
area in Incent).
note: You typically use the Credit Assignment area after you have completed the
initial setup and definitions using the Setup and Territory Management areas of the
application.
After running the credit assignment process, you can filter and check the results to
locate any unassigned orders, either adjusting the territory rules and reprocessing, or
manually assigning credits, as appropriate.
After completing the credit assignment process, you can use the Credit Assignment
area to download the orders. At this stage, the orders are ready for upload to Xactly
Incent for processing to determine the actual commissions.
note: Instead of uploading and downloading orders directly in Xactly Credit Assignment,
you can complete either or both tasks using the Xactly Connect API.
What You Can Do
You can complete the following tasks in the Credit Assignment area:
• Search orders, including new, assigned, and unassigned orders
• Add new orders (or copy existing orders)
• Manually assign credits
• Upload orders
• Search credit assignments
• Start the credit assignment process for a period
• View the status of credit assignment processes
• Download orders
Access Control
You need the Order privilege (set in the Setup > Roles area) to access the Credit
Assignment area.
