You can use the Dimension Values area to manage dimension values, including adding
new values, editing existing dimension values, and deleting unneeded dimension
values, as required.

All Fields

The following table describes the information you can specify when managing dimension values:

How to…

This section describes how to manage dimension values.

Display All Dimension Values

• Click the Territory Management tab, then click Dimension Values in the secondary
menu. The Dimension Values screen appears displaying all dimension values in the
results area.

Find Specific Dimension Values

1. Click the Territory Management tab, then click Dimension Values in the secondary
menu. The Dimension Values screen appears displaying all dimension values in the
results area.

2. Type part of the dimension value name in the Find Values field.
note: The Find Values field does not recognize regular expressions using characters
such as * or ?.

3. Click the button.
The search results appear in the results area.

4. (Optional) Narrow the search results by choosing an option in the Visibility list.

The possible options are:

• All
• Show Available Only
• Show Hidden Only

5. Click the Clear Search button to clear the search terms, as required.

Add a Value

1. Click the button to display the New Dimension Value dialog.

2. Click the button next to the Dimension field, select a dimension, and click the button.

Alternatively, click the button, specify the dimension information,
and click the button. Click the button to close the New Dimension dialog.

3. Click the button. The Step 2: Select a Dimension in Dimension Hierarchy
screen appears.

4. Click the  button next to the Dimension field, select a dimension, and click
the button.

and click the button. Click the button to close the
New Dimension dialog.

5. Click the button. The Step 3: Enter Dimension Value screen appears.

6. Specify the dimension value information.

a. Type or select values in the corresponding fields.
b. (Optional) Select the Hide checkbox to hide the dimension value.
c. (Optional) Click the  button next to the Start Date field, and choose a date
from the pop-up calendar.
d. (Optional) Click the button next to the End Date field, and choose a date
from the pop-up calendar.

7. Click the button. The Custom Attributes and Value Hierarchy tabs
appear.
Alternatively, click the down-arrow on the button, and choose Save and add
another to add another mapping.

8. Click the Custom Attributes tab, and click the button to
add a new custom attribute. The New Attribute dialog appears.

a. Type the attribute name in the Dimension Attribute* field.
b. Choose the data type using the Type* drop-down list.
c. Click thebutton.
d. Click the button next to the Mapped Order Attribute field, select a
field, and click the button.
e. Type a value in the Value field.
f. Click the button.
g. Click the button to close the Attribute Details dialog.

9. Click the Value Hierarchy tab, and click the button to add a
new value hierarchy. A dialog appears.

a. Type or select values in the corresponding fields.
b. (Optional) Select the Hide checkbox to hide the dimension value.
c. (Optional) Click the button next to the Start Date field, and choose a date
from the pop-up calendar.
d. (Optional) Click the button next to the End Date field, and choose a date
from the pop-up calendar.
e. (Optional) Type a description of the dimension value in the Description* field.
f. Click the button.
g. Click the button to close the dialog.

10. Click the button to close the dialog.

Edit an Existing Dimension

1. Select an existing dimension value from the list in the results area. A dialog
appears with the Description tab selected.

2. Modify the information, as required.

3. (Optional) Click the Custom Attributes tab and add a new item to the list, or modify
an existing entry.

4. (Optional) Click the Value Hierarchy tab and add a new item to the list, or modify
an existing entry.

5. Click the button to update the dimension value.
You can undo changes before saving by clicking the button,
and choosing Undo from the drop-down menu.

6. Click the button to close the Dimension dialog.

Delete a Dimension Value

1. Select an existing dimension value from the list in the results area. A dialog
appears with the Description tab selected.

2. Click thebutton, and choose Delete from the drop-down menu.
A confirmation dialog appears.

3. Click to  confirm the deletion; click the button to cancel the action.
The system asks for confirmation if records exist related to the dimension value you
are trying to delete. Clickagain to confirm the deletion; click the button
to cancel the action.

4. Click the button to close the dialog.

Upload Dimension Values

1. Click the Territory Management tab, then click Dimension Values in the secondary
menu. The Dimension Values screen appears displaying all dimension values in the
results area.

2. Click the button and choose Upload Values from the
drop-down menu. The Upload Dimension Values from Excel window appears.

3. Click the Click here link to download the Excel template file.

4. Add the dimension values (and related information) to the Excel template file. Follow
the format suggested in the template, and save the file with a .xls extension.

note: Xactly Credit Assignment ignores (and does not upload) values in the Parent
Dimension Value column of the spreadsheet.

5. Choose the dimension group using the Dimension Group* drop-down list.

6. Click the Browse button and navigate to the dimension values file.

7. Click the Upload button to upload the dimension values file. A message indicating
a successful file upload appears.

8. Click the OK button.
