Credit Assignment Territory Management Introduction
You can use the Territory Management area to specify the dimensions and dimension
hierarchies for your business, attributes that offer a way to determine the specific people
who should receive credit for a transaction or order. You can also use the area to
define values associated with these objects.
After completing these steps, you can use the Territory Management area to create a
library of dimension rules, which you can use as rule templates when defining territory
rules. Finally, you can use the area to define territories for your business, which involves
doing the following:
• Defining territory rules to identify the orders that are to be matched to the territory
• Assigning the people (and their respective split percentages) who are to receive
credit for an order
What You Can Do
You can complete the following tasks in the Territories area:
• Create, edit, and delete dimensions
• Create, edit, and delete dimension hierarchies
• Create, edit, and delete dimension values
• Create, edit, and delete dimension rules
• Create, edit, and delete territories
• Download territory data
Access Control
You need the following privileges (set in the Setup > Roles area) to access specific
areas within the Territory Management module:
• Dimension—Required to access the Dimensions, Dimension Hierarchies, Dimension
Values, and Dimension Rules areas
• Territory—Required to access the Territories area
