Important Notes

Browser “Back” button not supported

The Back button is not supported as a way to navigate pages in Xactly Incent or Xactly Modeling.

Order Item Batch Size

Xactly Incent and Xactly Modeling supports Order Item batch sizes up to 25,000 items.

Rounding within Calculations

Calculations are rounded to the 5th decimal place at the end of the calculation process. For example, if an exchange rate is entered to the 18th decimal place, the calculation uses the 18th decimal place and then rounds the result to the 5th decimal place.

note: When presenting numeric values with long decimal precision, Incent and Modeling may round the value for (user interface) display purposes only. The actual value remains unchanged in the database for calculation purposes.

Data Retention Policy

Xactly generally retains data for the purposes of calculation for 3 years (36 months). If you require routine processing of data older than 36 periods, please contact Xactly Support.

Uploading and Deleting Order Staging Batches

Uploading and deleting Order Staging batches at the same time can lead to Order Items missing if both include the same batch name.

XML Export/Import Limitations

Xactly Incent and Xactly Modeling supports importing an XML export from the same release version of the application. Because of continued enhancements to Incent and Modeling, new releases may include additional fields that can cause the export of an earlier release to not work when importing into a newer release.

Importing Data That Reference Undefined Objects

Importing data into Xactly Incent or Xactly Modeling that reference objects that do not exist in the target environment (such as rules that reference formulas or unit types not defined in the target environment) does not generate an error during import. Instead, in these cases, errors might occur during calculation or other processes.

Guidelines for Releasing Results

Xactly Incent and Xactly Modeling currently supports releasing a maximum of 100 commission or bonus results at one time.

Unicode/Double-byte Characters

Xactly Incent and Xactly Modeling currently supports Unicode characters for Customer Name fields only.

Special Characters

  • Xactly Incent and Xactly Modeling supports the following special characters: ` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * – ´ . , ( ) / = : ? _
  • The following characters are not allowed: ” ; + [ ] \ |
  • Xactly Incent and Xactly Modeling does not support the following special characters within formulas: < > = ( )
  • Custom field names do not currently support the following special characters: ? < > ` % @ & $ # ! ~ ^ ( ) ” + [ ] \ | , : ; or a blank space.
  • When using Internet Explorer, Xactly Incent and Xactly Modeling does not support creating objects (such as Credit Types, Unit Types, or Order Types, among others) with a name that begins with an accent (`).

Results Downloads

Credit, commission, bonus, and non-aggregated payment results are downloaded as .zip files. Aggregated payment results are downloaded as .txt files. For .zip files, you can open the files using the compression utility that comes with Microsoft Windows or Apple Mac OS X. If you have any difficulty with this process, please contact Xactly Support for assistance.

New Features and Setting Up Roles

Whenever a new feature is introduced to the application, it will not automatically appear until it is set in the Setup > Roles area. Remember to check Setup > Roles to make sure that any new feature and its associated menus are selected so that they will appear on your menus.

Exporting Files

All exported files are zipped for consistency, even if only a single file is exported. This means that when you export an object (in the Data > Export area), a .zip file is created even if only a single file is exported.

User Email Addresses up to 128 Characters

You can specify user email addresses up to 128 characters in length in the Setup > Users area (both in the user interface and through an upload).

Accessing Incent through AppExchange

These instructions are suggested security settings. Please review with your IT Desktop Support person for specific browser setting specifications, as each company has its own standards and protocols.

Lotus Notes

Lotus Notes truncates the URL users receive as part of the reset password notification. Clicking this truncated URL then takes users to an incorrect page and prevents them from successfully resetting their passwords. To resolve this issue, have the Lotus Notes administrator do the following:

  • In Lotus Notes, set the Format preference for incoming mail field in the Mail tab to “Keep in Sender’s format” for each user.

This enables Lotus Notes users to receive Xactly password notifications correctly.

Impersonating Sale Representatives

When impersonating a sales representative (in the Organization > People area), allow the Home area to load completely before navigating to another area (such as myIncentives > Plan Summary). Otherwise, Incent might, in certain circumstances, display an internal error message.
