Quarterly Bonus Targets
Xactly Objectives 2018-01 enhances the Objectives plan design process by offering administrators the option of assigning a quarterly value as a bonus target instead of a yearly value. This new flexibility is especially useful when the proration model does not split evenly across quarters or when the bonus target is unique per quarter.

Administrators can specify this setting in the Bonus Target Period field when editing a bonus target. Xactly Objectives 2018-01 also enhances the bonus target upload template to include a new Bonus Target Period column.
Administrators can further ease the transition to quarterly bonus target values by specifying the default using the Bonus Target Period Default field in the Setup > Settings area.

Note that after changing the default to quarterly, all people created after the release will use this setting. For existing users, administrators need to modify the default target period manually, along with any corresponding bonus targets.
Team Effective Dating
Xactly Objectives 2018-01 introduces team effective dating when editing bonus targets. This now allows administrators to effective date the team and bonus currency for a person, in addition to the bonus target. This enhancement helps ensure reporting accuracy when a person changes teams or uses a new payment currency.
Bonus Target Effective Dating
Note that when assigning plan templates by team, the assignment process uses the team assignment active at the end of the plan period. The same is true for calculations. If a person’s team membership is changed mid-period, the plan uses the calculation effective at the end of the period.
