Introducing the xODBC Client Driver

Xactly Connect is a data Extraction, Loading, Transformation (ETL), and Automation service that allows developers to integrate and consolidate sales data from disparate systems with Xactly Incent. Developers can also extract data from Incent for use in other downstream systems and applications. Acting as the middleman between Xactly Incent and customer-managed back-office systems, Connect enables ETL processing and data integration between Incent and other (SaaS and on-premises) enterprise applications.

The Xactly Connect xODBC driver enables developers to query Incent data programmatically, using xSQL, Xactly’s SQL dialect. This allows you to automate ETL processes that import and export Incent data, and initiate calculation processing within Incent using xCL (Xactly Command Language).

Behind the scenes, the xODBC driver connects directly to Xactly servers using RESTful web services over the secure and encrypted HTTPS protocol. Using the xODBC driver, ETL developers can access Xactly Connect using applications that support the ODBC interface, such as:

  • isql for Mac and Linux
  • RazorSQL for Windows
  • Toad Data Point 4.1+

Developers can also use the xODBC driver to access Xactly Connect through programming languages such as Python (using ceODBC, an open-source Python ODBC library).

The articles in this section describe how to install and configure the xODBC driver, depending on your operating system:

Supported Operating Systems
